Early Beginnings:

Starting his drumming journey at the age of 12, James quickly developed a passion for rhythm and percussion. His early years were marked by playing in various bands, honing his skills and exploring different musical genres. 

Melodians Steel Orchestra: 

As a versatile musician, James joined the renowned Melodians Steel Orchestra, where he played drums and percussion. This experience allowed him to tour extensively across Europe and beyond, performing at festivals, concerts, and private events. His time with the orchestra was instrumental in shaping his musical career and broadening his horizons. 

Indie Bands: 

James continued to expand his musical repertoire by drumming for indie bands such as The Plant and Monkey. These bands provided him with the opportunity to experiment with different styles and collaborate with other talented musicians. 

Family and Education: 

After taking a break from band life to focus on his family, James returned to drumming with renewed vigour. He completed his Rock School London and Trinity Music Rock & Pop drum gradings, further solidifying his expertise and commitment to his craft. James is currently pursuing a diploma in music teaching and performance. This further education underscores his dedication to both his personal growth and the development of his students. 

Current Endeavours: 

Currently, James is the drummer for Firmament, a modern metal band based in Nottingham. His powerful and dynamic drumming style adds depth and intensity to the band's sound, making them a standout act in the metal scene. Teaching and Mentorship: Passionate about sharing his love for drumming, James provides lessons to students of all ages. His teaching approach is tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring that every student can develop their skills and confidence. Through his mentorship, James inspires new drummers to pursue their musical dreams and discover the joy of playing.
